David Walsh

Carpenter/Designer

 

David started his timber framing career in Cornwall over 20 years ago and has worked on beautiful oak and timber frame projects all over Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly and the Central Belt of Scotland.

An award winning Passivhaus builder, David is a carpenter that cares; about his clients, the materials he uses and the world we share. With an honest and hardworking approach, David always strives to deliver his clients the best possible process and outcome.

In the last few years, building on his experience in off site construction and building to Passivhaus standard, David now offers a Closed Panel Insulation System. This system, made from low impact, ecologically sound wood fibre insulation, complements and completes the frames he builds to create not only beautiful, but sustainable buildings.

Jemma Roberts

Jemma is David’s partner and mother of their two growing children.  With a background in sustainable development, ecopsychology and environmental education, Jemma shares David’s passion for people and planet.

Jemma is the hello@oakandfir.co.uk and on the end of the phone line. Jemma works closely with David to ensure clients receive the best possible experience, from initial contact to project completion.

As well as supporting Oak & Fir with all administrative jobs, Jemma also runs her own small business The Humble Peg co. producing hand drawn oak pegs for traditional timber frames. All Oak & Fir pegs are Humble Pegs.
