Award winning
We have experience building to passivhaus standard. In 2018 the passivhaus we built in Scotland won a Saltire Society Housing Design Award and a Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) award for build quality. You can find out more here.
Collaborative
Building relationship and working collaboratively with clients and architects is important to us. Whether it be a garden studio, a self-build home, an extension or a larger building development, we know collaboration is key to delivering a truly sustainable building.
Fabric First
We know the importance of attention to detail, to maximise the energy efficiency of the buildings external envelope. As well as building onsite, we can provide offsite manufacture, in a factory-controlled environment, which leads to greater accuracy and less time building on site. This means we can raise a weather tight shell faster, avoiding damage by the elements.
Energy Efficient
Our highly insulated timber frame buildings create comfortable living spaces. These spaces need less energy to heat in the winter, yet remain cool in the summer.
Natural building materials
We are passionate about using natural building materials that do not rely heavily on fossil fuels in their processing. Natural building materials also sequester carbon, meaning they absorb and store carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere as they grow. They then keep this carbon locked in for the lifetime of the building. This is a crucial aspect of sustainable building, as it helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
